Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 December 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Workcanon ("Workcanon", "we", "us", "our"), a software platform for managing service-based business workflows, including quotes, jobs, invoices, and payments.

By creating an account or using Workcanon, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who this agreement is with

This agreement is between you (the individual or business entity using Workcanon) and Workcanon.

If you are using Workcanon on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.

2. What Workcanon provides

Workcanon is a software tool that helps you manage:

  • customers
  • quotes
  • jobs
  • invoices
  • payments

Workcanon does not:

  • provide accounting, tax, or legal advice
  • guarantee payment collection
  • act as a bank or payment processor

3. Payments and Stripe

Workcanon integrates with Stripe to enable payment processing.

When you connect a Stripe account:

  • payments are processed by Stripe, not Workcanon
  • Stripe's own terms and policies apply
  • Workcanon does not store your customers' card details

You are responsible for:

  • ensuring your Stripe account is properly configured
  • complying with Stripe's terms and applicable laws

4. Platform fee

Workcanon charges a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments processed through the system.

  • The fee is deducted automatically from each applicable payment.
  • The fee applies only to payments processed via Stripe through Workcanon.
  • Manual or off-platform payments are not subject to the platform fee.
  • If a payment is refunded, the platform fee is refunded in accordance with the refund.

5. Invoices, payments, and refunds

Invoices in Workcanon represent billing records, not proof of payment.

Payments recorded in Workcanon reflect either:

  • payments processed via Stripe, or
  • payments you manually record as received outside the system.

Refunds may be issued through Stripe or recorded manually, depending on the original payment method.

Once an invoice is voided or refunded, it cannot be reinstated.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • the accuracy of the information you enter into Workcanon
  • your relationships with your customers
  • determining whether and when payment has been received
  • complying with tax and reporting obligations in your jurisdiction

Workcanon is not responsible for errors arising from incorrect data entered by you.

7. Availability and changes

Workcanon is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We may:

  • update or modify the service
  • add or remove features
  • temporarily suspend access for maintenance

We will make reasonable efforts to avoid disruption but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8. Termination

You may stop using Workcanon at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you breach these Terms
  • required by law
  • necessary to protect the integrity of the service

Financial records created prior to termination may be retained for audit and legal purposes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Workcanon is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid to Workcanon in the previous 12 months

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be excluded by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material:

  • we will notify you
  • you may be required to accept the updated Terms to continue using Workcanon
